I bought a '52 Hornet some years ago, and got the original title with it. Tried everything I could to get Dept. of Licensing to let me keep it when I transferred title to me, but no luck.

Could have done it by saying title was lost, but I already had a sale for the car, so couldn't settle for a provisional title.
