  • HOWDY!

I recently took my front seat out of my 52' Hornet and turned out to be simple. My seat cushion just pulled out and off, then there were 2 bolts connecting the frame to the floor, both easily accessible and then I had to remove the springs and the whole seat just came out!! Im not sure if it was supposed to be that simple, there had been some weird customizing that was done before it became mine!!

John, as has been mentioned you need to lift off the seat cushion. Next, you need to remove the 4 bolts holding the seat frame to the front seat adjusting tracks. Be careful when removing the seat adjuster springs so that they don't stretch. In fact you may want to remove them before you remove the 4 seat pan bolts. The only thing to now do is lift the seat up and put of the way. A helper is good to have for this. Now you are left with the seat slider mechanism. You may or may not want to remove the 8 bolts holding this down. If you're doing wiring ,you can likely leave it alone. Good luck.

it doesn't take a lot of effort to remove the tops as well. this will make it much easier to handle. there are two bolts at the bottom of each cushion then they hinge up and release from the top. actually you may not need to do that (to get enough flex) its been a while you may be able to keep the cushions in place. on each hinge there is a cotter pin/washer once these are removed you need to spring one of the legs to pop off the hinge pin.

with your task at hand, it's likely leaving the bottom in place will be fine and all your pieces are manageable for one person
