STEPDOWN VENT SHADES
More items from my spare parts sell off:
These are a set of vent shades for a sedan, 1948-1954.
They came off of an original 49 that was loaded with Hudson accessories.
They were made by the "Auto Vent Shade Co.,Atlanta" I believe this is
the original supplier to Hudson.I think they are chrome plated brass.
They are much heavier and stiffer than the stainless ones off ered by
KGAP.These are in "five foot condition",showing wear and need replating
for show,but ok for driver.
Price is $25.00 for set Plus shipping. (SOLD)

It was about 1949 when Auto Vent Shade Co. changed from using brass to using stainless as the material for their product. Stainless of course was far more durable as the chrome on the brass wore over time and conditions. When K-GAP walked in the front door of AVS about 1984 they were thrilled to know that their BEST SELLER ever, Hudson vent shades still had hobby interest. They located their original dies back in the warehouse and were more than happy to produce for the Hudson market once again. They did not have the brougham rear side glass dies however.0

I was a factory direct distributor for Auto Vent Shade back in the '70s & '80s, and ordered and sold many sets for the brougham or club sedan to club members during those years.
