Took the 47 to the big annual Hudson/Mohawk American Truck Historical Society show today at the Ballston Spa Fairgrounds. Hundreds of trucks.
The ratty old beast was one of the hits of the show. Wore my 'You're ahead when you haul in a Hudson' shirt and a Vintage Truck cap. I was so busy workin the crowd I couldn't sit down for 4 hours. Took me an hour to eat a cinnamon bun.
Put a cork clutch disk on the windshield and a rod on the cowl. Left it in Neutral and started it up for em. I tell em I think I can get it started. Of course it catches on the first cylinder and putters away. They love it.
Lot of people had a lot of fun, including me.

Very nice, UJ. Amazing how "unrestored" cars attract so much attention. I love the idea of putting a clutch disk on display...I'll steal that idea...:cheer:0

Restoring stuff takes FOREVER. Get it running and solid, then worry about the shine.0

Hi Uncle Josh! Nice truck you have. Was not surprise you were up 4 hours cause you have a lot to say I'm sure. It was a pleasure to meet you in Albany. When I saw that meet, it gave me the sudden idea to invite members from the States to come in Compton participate in our little car show since I had invited the new chapter in Quebec to join in. It's located only 30 minutes from the border. 20 of them showed up. On sunday, on a total of 66 cars, I think we had about a dozen HET cars. That's a good score! I'm thinking of doing it again some time. I found a new family and want to stick with it forever.
Hope to meet you again. Michel.0 -
Ah yes Michel, we had a good tome meeting and talking in person. We'll have to get our passports in order and plan to come up and visit you all next time. I heard from Bruce that you had a great meet. Maybe will meet also at the National in Gettysburg. Plan to have the new 40 eight coupe there. It's getting ready for primer and should have it ready for the maiden voyage this week.

Great post Larry. I'm an Aussie with a 1946 Hudson sedan with an OK engine that had been chopped for rabbit and kangaroo shooting so the innards are gone. It will become a ute and your car is my "model". Once I get the internet on at home I'll post some pictures of the project.
