Bought some nors gas shocks for the 37 PU but they are no good. Anyone have an up to date shock # for the local NAPA - Autozone and so forth?

I have numbers for Monroe shocks that fit my 37 sedan if that helps.
Numbers are J610 for the fronts, and J884 for the rear. Napa should be able to cross reference them. Or, just take the old ones in and they should be able to match them with something with the correct stroke and bushing size.

You say they're "no good". As in..."defective"? They don't fit? Or, they don't give a good ride?

Here are part numbers I have culled from various sources over the years. No guarantees, but they might be a starting point (you could check the dimensions to see if any of them fit):

    FRONT:
    Gabriel 7501-B
    Delco S-207
    Monroe K 11476
    Monroe-matic 2151 (or 5121 -- might have that backwards!)
NAPA 94051 (gas) - remove steel centers
    NAPA or Monroe 2014

    REAR:
    Monroe K-149
    Delco S-100, S-115, S-121, S-123, S-150, S-182, S-183, S-186, S-190
    Gabriel 7715A. 7721B, 8002B, 8017B
    NAPA or Monroe 1143,
    NAPA 94007 (gas)

Almost no dampening ability as well as no "outward" push.

When I last went to the parts house and asked for a match on a shock size, they looked at me like I was from Mars!
    thanks for the info!
