vacuum wiper electric conversion
Being fairly new to Hudsons, and making good progress on my '46 pickup, I've got the interior gutted for paint, and might as well address the vacuum wiper motor. Don't want to get this far behind the dash a second time, and I'm sure someone has addressed the vacuum motor conversion before, and would be most interested in a solution or 2. With rain comming need to get these wipers wiping......Byron

I used on of these on my Hornet: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Black-12-Volt-Electric-Wiper,2999.html
They come in 6V too. I removed the actuator end off the old vacuum motor and welded it to the electric motors shaft. Unfortunetly the park function is reversed, so the wipers don't automatically stop 'down', they stop 'up'. Eh, it was cheap and simple enough. If you have the money, there are better systems out there.0 -

FYI
There are nice Wipers out there NewPort etc, but I used a $40 Mtr from Jc Whitney and a pc of angle Iron with a switch to Dash. Its single Spd but works good, You could hook an Intermitten switch too. I posted this few yrs ago.
I also utilized a Ford Torino Dual Master Cyl while retaining the stock Hudson Emergency Brake System on my Truck....0 -

Just a little update on my wiper setup. The electric motor I used will be in the way of the Twin-H air cleaners. The rear air cleaner will need to be rotated foward (I had to rotate the support a bit too) to clear - at least with how I set up my motor.0
