I have some NOS gages that no longer have the Hudson P/N's on the box. They are King Sealy P/N's on the gages.

KS46374 - A - C Temp gage
KS A-8307 C
5228 Fuel gage

And a VDO fuel gage, The only numbers on the back appear to be date code 10:55 with a 52 below that number.

Any help identifying these gages is appreciated.

    Lee,

I have the boxes left from a couple of Hudson/KS gauges for 1951. The Hudson part number stamped on them in red ink is 225948. The number 6473 is stamped on the opening tab of the boxes. This number is impressed in the cardboard, not done in ink, and may be the KS ID number for that model gauge. At least it is similar to one of your numbers. Your A and C could correspond to the '51-'53 Hudson models, and I would not think Hudson would have gone to the trouble of reboxing gauges purchased from KS. Hmmmm

On the other hand, the gauges used by Hudson for '50 and earlier are not the same as those used from '51 on, and you may have an earlier version. The same gauge was used for both temperature and gasoline in the Hornet models A-C, and I would assume others. Nothing in the installation directions accompanying the original gauges shows numbers for KS.

Perhaps Hudzilla will chime in on this.

    Thanks for the information.

The 225948 # on your box verified a number I was having difficulty reading on one of my other boxes with 51 - 52 written on it. Solved that mistery. Mybe I'll keep that gage for a spare unless someone desperately needs it.
