35 Hudson engine color

All the mid 30's Hudson engines I have seen are colored silver, rust and greasy dirt. What is the correct factory color for the 1935 Hudson 6? Also, the pans that go between the engine and frame - are these body color, black, or something else?

The best performing and correct color I've found is Duplicolor 500 degree engine paint in Aluminum color ... available at most auto parts stores. Clean the block well with kerosene or other solvent, then wash with soap and water. Then wipe down with POR-15 Metal Ready or similar etching solution that will leave a thin coat of zinc phosphate. Spray two or three light coats of the Duplicolor. For accurate original appearance don't put it on too heavy ... you should still see the texture of the cast iron surface.

The "sod trays" should be black.

I've done my block and head silver and the oil pan, valve covers and breather pipes black. This fits in with a picture in a 34 Hudson brochure that I have.
In the procedure manual, there's a picture of a 34 or 35 with a black head.
