6 volt Cruise control

Is there a source for a 6 volt cruise control? Didn't find anything via Google.

    Doug, there probably isn't, but you could buy a suitable 6 to 12 converter for under $25 I think. A fairly light duty one would suffice for a cruise control unit ... something rated at around 3 to 5 amps, 40 to 60W. Or just check the power consumption of the unit and double it to determine what power (watts or VA) you need from the converter.

    I tried to put cruise control on my 51 Pacemaker years ago when I first got it. I have a 6 to 12 volt converter. I had it all hooked up, linkage etc. but it would not work as I bought one that picked up signal from the coil and it would not work. If you were to try it you would probably need to buy one that picked up the signal from sensors attached on the driveshaft.

    I don't know if they are still made like that .

    Hudson had this feature in all their cars before 1930 models. It's called a hand throttle! On the Essex Four and Hudson Super Sixes its on the steering wheel centre, and on the Essex sixes and Hudson 8's its a bowden cable. Get up to the speed you want, pull the cable or set the lever, and there you are!
