Fuel Regulator Setting
Old Fogey UK
Expert Adviser
I've replaced the mechanical fuel pump on my 1934 H8 with an in-line electric one mounted on the frame behind the right rear wheel.
Someone said I needed a fuel regulator to prevent flooding, so I bought one of the adjustable type which can be set at 1 - 6 pounds.
My carburettor is a standard Carter W1.
What pressure should I set the regulator at to get the best running, please ?

Start by setting it at 3 pounds, then when you drive the car and the motor gets hot and you shut it down, check the carb to see if any gas is dripping, if no, leave it at that setting, if yes, turn it down to 2 pounds. Those gauges are not always what they read. Walt.0
