Four Hudsons at 2012 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale
B-J Scottsdale is coming up in a few weeks. Looks like there are a total of four Hudsons consigned, including a Commodore with only 35K miles:

The Truck has a 308 head on it but I don't see a rib above the oilpan. It could be an early 308, still I would love to have it!

that '35 is a Hudson 6.
Take a look at the engine photo - it has the extremely rare 2-piece high compression head option!0 -

I can't see any join in that head, it looks to be in one piece to me. Interesting, the Hudson 6's were 4 inches longer in the wheelbase than the Terraplanes, and the radiator sits way forward of the engine, with an extension of the fan shaft to bring the blades up close. I wonder what effect that had on the water pump bearings? I have never seen one of these before. A bit pretentious having a huge long bonnet over such a short engine!0 -
yes, you're right, just peered at it very carefully again, which I didn't do the 1st time, & it is a very thick 1 piece head whereas the ones used on the 8 engine are a 2-piece head with a solid copper headgasket used between them.
If my attempt to put photo of one I bought at Greenfield Village National some years ago comes out, look at the bottom shot.0
