WTN tech topics

Wondering if anyone has put together a book of just the tech topics (like Geoff's and Walt's stuff) -- something you can put into a binder and have categorized as an easy reference list to whatever Hudson you are working on? That would be much easier than trying to refer back to certain issues to find the info ??
I know Walt has done this with his -- I have both binders--- But I am wondering about all the tech articles done thru the years?

    Walt, you bring up a good point- I'm sure all the WTN material is copyrighted, not just your articles, and couldn't be reproduced for sale without permission.

    I tried to check it out Victor. The print was so small I could not read it even with a magnifyiing glass. Has anyone else had a problem reading it? Mybe it is my computor. There is probably alot of good leads there if it were readable.

    I couldn't get the site to come up at all, but to change type size, press CTRL while you roll the little wheel on your mouse- should get larger and smaller, depending on the way you roll the wheel.

    I have had many requests for copies of my Technical Topics articles, and I'm sorry, I have not yet had the time to compile them together. However, this is in the pipeline. And when done I'll let people know so they can obtain a copy. Still too busy repairing Hudsons to spend too much time at the computer.

    That is some help, but not nearly as good as having all the tech related papers in their own folders (or one big binder) and then you don't have to sift thru all the other to find a particular tech related page. That would take up a lot less space as well. Maybe the club (me included) could help with this effort and have it for sale in the club store? Having it in binder form would enable easy addtions when needed.

    I recently rcvd a box full of various sorts of material, including tech tips from various chapter newsletters. I'm in the process of sorting it all out and plan to build a tech tip manual for the on-line library. I'm also clipping various tech advice from the forum to add to the pile.

    Another project that I'm working on is a WTN index - I have copies from 3 different sources (haven't check SoCal's list yet) and hope to put it all together.

    Still another project coming up is I'm going to scan early WTN's, when I get my hands on them and will build an index from those, plus the other sources I've collected.

    Alex, that's even better, adding tech tips from chapter newsletters as well. This would go a long way in keeping our cars up and running in a modern age. Now if we could nudge Randy Maas into putting together his "engine build" info----

    The key to all this info will be an integrated index. As an example, my wife as town and village historian, is given scrapbooks that contain bits and pieces of info, ie obits, cemetary records, articles and what have you.

    She has indexed all this on an Excell spreadsheet which is online under Fulton County, NY website and lists book, page, and type of info and is available to the world via internet. People access it from all over the country. It is now over 20,000 main entries each of which has several columns of info and updated regularly. Some 100,000 entries and growing. It's a lot of work but you can find info on anything available in a few seconds.

    The index would need to be online (Anything printed is obsolete) and updated under some type of control.

    Nice project for somebody, probably a small team of people so the unavailability of one person wouldn't scotch the whole project.

    All material published in the WTN is the property of the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club. It may be reproduced with permission of the publisher if credit is given. Chapter Newsletter Editors may reproduce any material...they have blanket permission to do so. :)
