I just bought one from clifford performance seems like they will work pretty good even on a SWB car.

It kooks like hydraulic lifters would be a good idea.
Not a lot of room to adjust the valves.
looks like a good fit and quality.

Looks nice, what are you planning to use for intake?0

They look really good..Just concerned about header longevity in general...Thanks.0

Has there been an issue in the past with Clifford Headers? Ive never owned one before? just asking, incase I need to watch for something funky.
thanks0 -
Schillaz, Does the #5 and #6 header ports line up with the block ports ? I had a set that would not line up and was hard to get over the 5-6 block studs. Thanks Rudy0

This new style clifford header is a two piece header so #5 & #6 slip off the main part so it will line up perfectly. Once its bolted up and engine has been run the heat will swell that slip joint so then it will be one piece from then on out.
will find out how well it works hopefully in a month or two.0 -
I've had mine on the engine for several months now and have run the engine many times. No persistent leaks and everything lined up fine. Unfortunately purchased and applied EASTON@ coating system and there is rust coming through already. Will try patch work until I take them off eventually for professional coating.

Thanks for the input guys...This is all very helpful.0

What kind of coating are you going to try next?0
-
Can you sandblast and then powder coat them, with good long-term results?0
-
The coating on my Ciffords has held up excellent in the going on 7 years I've had it and who knows how long for the PO(it wasn't a fresh build when I got it).Wish I could tell you for sure what it is.0

On the subject of tappets... I've seen mentioned Mopar hydraulic lifters fit - could I get some specifics? A search didn't really provide much info. Will they work in the early blocks? Or just the later Hash blocks? Thanks.0

As far as I know early Chrysler Continental hydraulic lifters (originally developed for their airplane engines) work in Hudsons. I know because I replaced a bad "Hudson" hydraulic with a Chrysler. I would think that the hydraulic setup will fit any Hudson "Big Block", the tappets are essentially the same as the solids. However, cam grind might be an issue and I would use the unique '56 309742 "hydraulic" grind only. Cleanliness is a problem with the continentals, I have one that is somewhat noisy at warm idle, probably not cleaned well enough, I hope with use the thing "clears" out. But no adjusting necessary!0

jet coating? is this the same process as powder coating??0

Anyone know if there is a 6 - 1 header available. I don't really want dual exhaust with the issue of having to shoe horn two mufflers and extra tubing etc.
Thought I would run maybe a 2 1/5" single0 -
Dave I have one of the New single outlet that I bought from clifford last year and never installed it. I will order the 2 part header in the next few days from Clifford. I you want it please let me know and I will sell it for the price I will pay for the New one.
Thanks Rudy0 -
Dave, Now i cannot find the new headers. They are not in the parts car at the farm ? I think that someone needed them for what?
So I will keep looking inside of all of the parts cars and every where else. I will let youall know if i find them
Thanks so much Rudy.0
