Assembly Line video

No, not Hudson ('36 Chevrolet, actually). But, I wanted to share this with y'all as it's absolutely amazing footage of assembly line manufacturing at it's finest, with automobiles being the discipline. Mouth-dropping video for any classic car fan. I guess I'm old-fashioned, but I really dig the days before robotics, electronics and computerization-- it's so much more "mechanical". It looks as though the factory is doing a ballet of production.
Sorry, don't know how to post the video directly into my post . . .

For those who wonder why we don't reproduce fenders, quarters, doors, hoods for Hudsons: Note the size of the presses used to stamp out fenders in the video!0

Actually there IS a Hudson movie out there, showing the process of building a 1934 (I think) Hudson. It's narrated by the then-famous newscaster Lowell Thomas, who following his Hudson along the line as it was being built. I'm not sure where this is available; possibly in the H-E-T Library. I remember seeing it maybe 25 years ago, projected from an old 16mm movie projector. I would assume someone has put it on videotape or a DVD by now.0

Turns out my computer skills are not good enough to extract the file from the DVD. But I can send you a scan of the DVD cover & I can copy the DVD & mail it to you when I'm in the US next month. For some reason I can't load the pdf to this forum, so email me.
My email is HETdavid@websters.co.nz (drop the HET - avoiding the spam bots!!)0
