Gas tank cap.

Probably changed in '52 when they put the spare vertically on the right side instead of flat on the floor. That required a narrower tank to accommodate the spare wheel well.0

Thanks Park. I'm just trying to figure out the range on a full tank. Richie0

My 52 holds 20 gallons. Put in 17 gallons the other day.0

All styep-down tanks were 20 gal. The 15 gal tank was for the Jets

Thanks GrimGreaser and Jerry I appreciate your help. Richie0

One exception to this: racing tanks were 25 gallons. All stepdown gas tanks will interchange except for the 1954 model year. (surprised?) The neck is narrower and the cap is different.0

Yes -all stepdown tanks are the same exept 54 has different neck. I have sold the 48-53 tant to a 54 owner and he mearly moved the neck,

Hudzilla, thanks, I didn't know that but 5 more gals would be good. Couldn't afford to fill it very often though at $4/gal. Richie
Roger, I just checked the 53 Hornet and the 50 Pacemaker tanks and they are the same. I'll be sending you another list this coming week. Thanks, Richie.0 -
Allways glad to help Richie,
Roger0
