the starter i got with this engine has the number mch6204---9g , i can't figure out what it actually is supposed to go on i can't find that number on any hudson engine . how can i tell if it is a 6 or 12 volt and what it fits

MCH-6204 fits 1951-1952,4C,5C,7C,4D,5D,6D,7D with automatic or hydramatic transmission. This from the 1948-154 Master Parts Catalog.
