The Hudson Transmission would not hold up to even a modified Hornet Motor...The input shaft would twist then snap.... Way back in the day Racers were adapting Ford Trans & clutches to the Hornet Motor's...0 -
The input shaft snapped on my Uncles stock 51 Hornet in 1956.0

The single lever 48 transmission linkage would be a pain. I agree. Use a transmission that fits the engine. It's much easier to adapt a drive shaft and U-joint than a bell housing.0

Why not put a hydro in with your slightly modified hudson motor. Change sterring tube, get hydro mount setup, and 51 or newer floor pan and go.
