Help a kid out in Utah.
I have recently been in contact with a young man in Utah who is very likely going to buy a '53 Super Jet. He is wondering if there are rocker panels in his area? He lives in the West Valley... I am not familiar with where that is. Is there someone I can get him in contact with that knows about these cars and/or parts?
He is 17 and excited to own a Hudson. He would love to get a Hornet, but just wants to get into the hobby. This is our chance to reach out to him and show him what a great club this is.
I will pass on what ever knowledge you can provide. I have invited him to try out the club and to join the Jet Set along with visiting Sarah's fantastic site Hudsonjet.net.
Hudsonly,
Todd

Todd--My national roster lists 22 people in the State of Utah that are members of the Hudson Club. I am not sure where they all hide, but I would say that is a good number. West Valley is on the west side of Salt Lake city, I could give you some street boundries but that most likely would not help much. There are a few near to your friend and most likely a start for contacts would be the folks at Customs and Classics. They are a restoration shop in Murry that he can find the contact information in the phone book. That would be a good start.... He might also check out J. C Hackett (DJ that is on the web and makes most meets here in Utah) JC has a web site that lists all the local old car activities locally. Good luck to him...

I live in South Jordan Utah, 10 to 15 miles from West Valley city and have a restored 52 Hornet. He is welcome to give me a call or visit at anytime or I will contact him if given his info. The deseret Chapter is very active and helpful group and I am sure The Chapter President Dave Putman or VP Jim Freeman would be happy to assist this young man. The key to helping is getting them involved with the chapter. Our VP lives in West Valley and has placed his 55 Hornet with his grandson and is helping him along. Brent Laurence0

Thanks Brownie and Brent!
I will pass on this info and see where it goes from there. Will look forward to seeing his project take shape and hope his interest in the club grows.

Hi, my name is Gert (pronounced Ghiet) and I live near you in Salt Lake. Be glad to talk Hudsons with you and show you my humble collection. A 1947 pick-up, 1948 concert and a 1951 Hornet club cpe. And in case you are interested in a Hudson more like a Hornet let me make a shameless sales promotion for my 2 door 1950 Pacemaker brougham - one of the nicest body styles in my opinion. I would rather sell it here than Ebay (in Sept if no interest locally) price $1200. In any event come visit, you are welcome. Gert email is preferred at HETgtkristi at Copper dot net (drop the HET).0

Thank you Gert,
I am not the young man we are trying to help. I am merely helping him. I will pass this info on to him and am very grateful for your generous offer. His name is Tyler and he would love to see more Hudsons. Your offer of the Pacemaker is very nice as well. I do not know what his funds would allow, but will let him know.
Hudsonly,
