While I'm at it, I talked to a guy tonight who has a Standard sedan with 6 wire wheels, original interior, older paint, last run about 6 years ago and will surely need some work but overall decent. He said he was looking for about $20,000, after I picked the phone back up I suggested that may be little high (on the price). I don't think he agreed with me. Any comments?

duel side mounts and wires push the price up. The paint looks like it could be tired. How long will the upholstery last with regular use? How long has it been sitting? How old are the tires(not milage,but age) What comes with it, spare parts?
This is Hudson's best, and a dream to drive and maintain. In todays market, with out seeing the car and knowing nothing about it, 20k is to high.

If you look at the current market, 29 sedans, even the custom bodied sedans, are not bringing that kind of a price at auction. In 29 Hudson offered a sedan on the 122 inch wheel base, two sedans on the 139 inch wheel base and some verry attractive custom bodied cars. Based on market estimates, depending on the model, one could expect a sale price between $10,000 and $14,000 for this car. My expectstations would be near the low end of this range. With that said, this looks like a very nice car that would be a lot of fun to own.

well it has some things in it's favor such as original crankhole cover, vacuum tank, and sidemount holddown bars (but without the locks). Wire wheel hubcaps look to be in decent condition but I'd agree that's a "little much" for a std. sedan.
As for what Hudsons bring at auction, wait 'til you see what Soneff's dual cowl phaeton drags in, think going off in Oct. - I'm sure it will be 6 digits.

I owned the same model , with side mounts and wire wheels. Restored and drivable anywhere, I sold it for $7200.00 in 1981.I guess if you figure in inflation , the values have come down.
It was one of my favorites to drive , right behind the 37 Terreplane coupe.
Relly bad fuel milage ! best was 10 mpg.

Bare in Mind that 1929 Was the best production year in Hudson's history and there are more '29's in the club than even some later years according to the 2007 Roster data I put together.
But custom bodied cars are not in the same class as your standard Hudson sedan.
