manifold question

there is a piece of tubing coming off the spacer below the heat deflector but above the intake what is this for and where does it hook to? tubing is approx. 10 -12 in. long

If you're meaning this is between the carburetor base and the manifold, it could be from a formerly installed "upper cylinder lube" system, which injects a bit of Marvel Mystery Oil or similar into the fuel-air mixture.
