Front main saddle bearing,308

Installing the front main bearing appears to be tricky.....I am not sure I did it correctly as the fit was very ,very tight and difficult to install? The crank turns with a 1/2 breaker bar smoothly ,but it feels tight to me compared to other bearing instilations. Any of you folks have advice for me on this? Assemily lube is showing that the bearing is riding on the shoulders of the bearing more than the center of it ,leading me to believe that it is not getting set in totally????
