Fuel Pump Help needed on my 37 Hudson

So, it seems like my poor "old blue" (37 hudson sedan 8cyl) is having several problems from sitting for around 6 years. Now in addition to the starting & battery problems, it looks like my fuel pump has taken a dump on me and isnt working.

My current fuel pump was replaced in 2004, so is there a chance it can be easily revived or does it have to be rebuilt / replaced? If there isnt a quick easy fix to get it going again, where can I get a rebuilt pump which would handle the modern fuels, etc?

In addition, while looking on line this morning for a replacement pump, I had seen several topics about electric fuel pumps. The ones recommended were both Borg Warner: #EP11 (6volt) and #EP12B (12volt). Is this still holding true? Should I add one in addition to a rebuilt factory pump or just add one and leave the old pump? If I left the old pump, would I bypass it or ??

BTW: I havent made the absolute decision to convert to 12 volt but leaning toward it quite a bit. Thanks!!

If you go to straight electric its a good idea to bypass the old pump. If the diaphram leaks it will put gas into the crankcase. You can leave it there and go around it or remove it and cover the hole with a block off plate.
There are repair kits around for the old pump and rebuilt ones available as well as new. Cooper has the rebuilt units ,

A good rebuilt fuel pump will give you many years of service. Mine has worked fine without an electric pump.
