Well one thing that can happen to cause uneven operation of the front brakes in particular is bad hoses. They tend to swell up inside and restrict the flow ,look fine outside,

It's NOT the Master Cylinder for sure. I would first check adjustment of shoes and then make sure the emergency brake overide is properly adjusted. If it still does that, I would remove the drum on the left side and check for a plugged up hose as Roger suggested.0

Shoes on one side contaminated is a possibility changing the friction, doesn't take much. Need to replace both sides if this is the case. This happened to me on the 47 and it pulled bad. Took it apart and could see the film on the shoe. It was the front. Always something simple you don't expect.0

I'M THINKING MAY BE WHEEL CYL IS FROZEN UP OR ALMOST , BRAKE HOSES, SHOES ARE ON BACKWARDS ( PRIMARY SHOE ON FRONT ) OR EM0

Get a copy of Walt's tech books and read how to set up Hudson brakes. The short shoe with the small lining goes on the front side on all 4 wheels, the long lining is the secondary and goes on the rear side on all wheels. Then give the cylinders a good bleeding. Walt.0

Don't overlook the possibility of weak return springs which can allow the one side to apply too quickly and not release properly. Also is the 'free play' adjusted correctly at the master cylinder, too tight and the brake(s) can lock up..

Steve, did this problem appear all of a sudden, gradually over tiime, or after work on the brakes, or what? Knowing that can help weed out the non-applicable suggestions.0

Park. brakes and all equipment was installed new a few years ago and had a great pedal now that the car is all back together the problem showed up. (3 to 5 years of setting). (lines. shoes, hopses, mater cyl, and wheel cyl]

Any possibility of a wheel cylinder leak that's got brake fluid on the right side shoes? That would behave similar to what you've got.0
