What is the paint code for the gray or silver that is used on my 52 Hornet rocker panels? Thanks! Bill

  • 58 pontiac INCA SILVER is very close match to the original ARGENT on the rockers. You can use some "flatner" if you think it a little too glossy.

    Hi Bill,

I have a set of color chips for 52 and there are two grays listed:

202-57127 Jupiter Gray Metalic : Combination number 95N : DUCO Stock Number 1350

    246-70397 French Gray : Combination number 72, 101 (U), 106 (U), 107 (L), 108 (L), 109 (L), 110(L) : DUCO Stock Number 668

You can usually find a "argent silver" in a given product line.

As far as I know, there was never a "paint code" for the argent color of the rocker panels. Hudson carried Argent as a service item, but you ordered it by the Hudson part number. As Park W mentions, most auto paint lines have an "Argent" color that will be o so close!

Don't know if they still have it, but Ford dealers used to carry 16oz. spray cans of argent in their parts departments.
  • Thanks everyone for your help! I will go to my auto paint store and ask the about the "argent". This forum is great!! Bill
  • Probably not a paint code just because it was the same on every car,
    Roger
