Door arm rest pulls
After only 11 years of working on our 54 Hornet Hollywood I lost the door arm rest and pulls and arm rests for the rear inner quarter pannels .Does anybody have 2 front door and 2 pass quarter panel rests. they are made of wood. the rear are stapled to the panel board and front are screwed on to the doors. I also need the Hornet round emblem that sits near the front of door inner panels that go through the inner door panels. Ray

I also had issues with the door rests and pulls and desided to re-design them . Two little sheet metal screws to hold them did not seem like a very good design and the expence to restore them would have been more than cuttting and finishing Walnut pulls that sit on the horizonal plan of the door. I am not sure if this will look as good but so far the design, is making it easier to reinstall the panels and do not think I will have any issues with the pulls falling off the doors as I have seen happen with other 54's.Some design elements of the Hornet can stand to be updated or improved, Head bolts ,timing chain, center link bearing etc...It is difficult to restore a hudson and the need to make things work sometimes needs be done. Much better than not getting the car back on the road because of all the little issues that become overwhelming.0

It is just trim shop backer board that seems to be the standard for older cars. I would have liked to have found a matierial that was water impervious ,but for time sake went with this. It is very easy to work with. The hard thing is to measure all the clip attachment holes and add new ones as needed.Much time and care. The outside perrimitor of the panels will be dark blue velor, same as the head-liner and the center insert will be dark blue leather.Padding is 1/4 memory foam. Soon will return to working on them ,but just got the engine rebuilt and installed and am working to get the car on the road.Still need to get the pedals in so that I can continue with the engine tuning and such.0

I have the bones to these pulls, but as I eluded to they are only usefull for completly rebuilding them .The metal strap bars etc. Not sure of the wood part of them as I desided to delete them early on . I would think there might be enough left of them to use as a pattern in making new wood bases. Might have complete one ,but again they are in poor condition, very involved design requiring a pro to redo them to a stock condition. I did not have the skill or money to do them back to new condition. They came off a 54 sedan 7D hornet?0

Would the passenger armrests from a 4 dr. sedan 53-54 be the same as the Hollywood passenger armrests. Ray0

Attached are two sets of Hollywood interior shots showing the front door and rear seat armrests as attached are pictures of the front and rear armrests in a 54 four door. The 1953 arm rests are entirely different than the 54 armrests0 -

I don't care about the looks of the 54 door pull. Will the 52-53 screw holes match up with the holes in the lip of the 54. If it does then I will use the 52-53, as my door pulls are coming loose from the staples that hold the end to the panel0
