Parts for 33

Point of information, please: you are looking for parts for a 1933 Terraplane Eight, not a 1933 Hudson Eight -- is that correct? (Two completely different cars.) The thread title says merely: "Parts for 33".
Also, perhaps it might be helpful to re-state exactly what parts you're looking for, because I think you added something to your original list, but now we're into two pages of replies and it's getting harder and harder to scroll back through all these postings. Plus, someone is now talking about seats, which I don't think were in your original list of needs.

Ok hear we go 1933 Terraplane 8. Looking for mascot, hood trim for doors, tail lights, poss cowl lights front and rear bumpers, outside door handles, and what else do you have let me know thank you very much.0
-
Okay, now I'm confused.
"Hood trim for doors" I presume means the little chrome spear finger pulls for opening the hood doors? If not that, what? "Pass cowl light".... since these cars don't have lights on the cowl are you needing one of the lamps on top of the front fenders -- which are the same left and right? "Tail lights" -- do you need the lamp STANDS and the lamp HEADS all or do you have any pieces? The heads and stands are each unique to their positions due to fender taper and license lamp lens(L) or lack of (R).0 -
My uncle Tom had someone cast the little spears and they came out nice, he is on here as 33ET8CONV I believe. You may want to contact him or you can get him from the roster (Tom Brintnall) as he can probably have more made.0
-
Yes the hood spear finger pulls, also I said poss instead of possible not pass cowl lights, there are holes on each side where I would think it had them at one time, my bad. I could use complete tail lights ie stands, heads, lense, etc hope that doesn't confuse anybody.0

John, here is another suggestion. Do you have a way of posting your own webpage somewhere? If you could put together a page or two (using Microsoft Word or something like that) with actual photos of the items you need, along with a brief description and measurement, this would be helpful. Reason: 1933's are a bit obscure for most Hudson people (and the '33's might as well be from another planet, for other car people!). Having a photo to go by is always helpful. If you don't have the part yourself, to photograph, you may be able to copy a photo from an on-line photo, from a parts book or a '33 catalog. Or if you are lucky enough to live near someone with a '33, you can get a good shot of the part you are looking for.
One you have the webpage put together, you can e-mail the URL to all sorts of people, or post it here at the Forum. You can also make a PDF of your document and e-mail it directly to people.
In the old days, when I was first looking for parts for my Terraplane, I Xeroxed sheets with photos and descriptions of the parts I needed, and sent them -- along with a stamped, addressed envelope -- to various Hudson vendors around the country. Now we're blessed with the internet, which makes this whole search process a lot faster and cheaper!0 -
I really don't have time to do what is suggested just looking for parts when somebody lets me know what they have then I will communicate with them apparently there isn't much out there we will see0

Can you email me? I was going to PM you, but this forum format sucks. I don't have the patience to figure it all out.0

Ok, so what are you looking for now? Which rear fender do you need? You mentioned "driver's side". Is your driver's side a left or right?
You mentioned a hot rod hemi project. I need to see pictures,...please!0 -
Left and I'm not sure how to

Have the pictures available either in or plugged into your computer.
Click in the 'comment' box, like your going to write.
Look below where you are writing. See where it says "attach a file"? Click it, a 'browse' box will open, click that, select a photo from your computer, like I did. ...That's about it.0 -
Pic of motor and pic of shell and pic of other 33 looking for parts for. I have lost some pics due to phone.0

St. Louis Missouri will try to find time for more pics0

If I ever was in the position to street rod a '33, I would keep the drivetrain "in the family" so to speak, a nice AMC/AMX 401, lighter and more torque than that big old heavy Hemi, lol . But at least you're not putting a "me too" chevy small block in it!0

the '33 T8 coach under the cover looks pretty nice, it is also a quite rare body style for the T80
