goodyear radial tires
Hi everybody in hudson land. Yesterday I went to buy some cloth covered wire from a ford vintage parts supplyer. I was telling him that I have my heart set on buying the Goodyear radial that Kelsey tire company sells. Well after the price ot tire shipping broker fees and tire levy and GST I live in Canada the price for 4 were 1550.00 Then I was telling the owner about these tires and he said that because I was such a good friend since the 70s he would buy 4 tires for me. I was fabergasted. Anyway what is your opinion on these tires. Hudsonly Ray

Duncan, I hrecently purchased a 54 Hornet coupe that I expect is much like yours. You have a nice looking car. Any chance you could send me some photos so I can paste them on the wall of my shop so I can see what I will be working towards? HETbrowniepetersen@readytek.net (drop the HET) Thanks0

Duncan, perhaps you will need to send them one at a time. I opened up some file space and changed my cookies so it should work now. browniepetersen@readytek.net0

Have been running a set on my 34 modified since 2004, no problems.
Here is their web site:

Cliff, is there a clearance problem on the 52 rears under the skirts, when using the original Hudson wheels? I wondered if the radials were too wide and rubbed the skirts. What are the exact size of the Goodyears? Is there a problem with the 53s with the Dana rears?0

There is lots of room in there , the problem comes in replacing the tires. If they are to big they wont fit between the brake drum and the perimiter frame. The actual restricting factor is usualy the shocks keeping the rear end from droping low enough,

215-75R/15 is the correct size for the Hudson 5 inch rims. With 225's just hope you never get a flat in the rain. Walt.0

Come on Walt - you know as well as I do the only time you get a flat tire these days is when you are in the midst of commuter traffic in the middle of a hurricane!!!!!!!!
