Does anyone know whose 1951 Hornet cv is at Mecum auction in Kissimmee today scheduled for 7:10pm

Comments

  • It sold 80,000.
  • What color isit Dave. there were two sold last summer here in Iowa. A blue one and a maroon one
  • Is this where we say, all yellow 51 convertibles look alike, or have we seen this one before--perhaps on ebay? Very nice looking car.
  • Brownie, I was thinking the same thing when I looked at the photo. I think it was on ebay at one time or another.

  • Yah, I've seen that CV on Hemmings website for along time.

This car belonged to Bob Colenbaugh, who lives near me. He sold it to a fella in FL who is tied into the Mecum Auctions, somehow. Bob bought his latest, a '49 brougham from Mr. Parks. Bob owned the convertible for probably a couple of years and made quite a few changes and improvements over the original restoration, including the burgundy top that I helped him put on. The tan top that used to be on it is now in the possession of Dave Waddell, and on his CV (formerly Herb Bell's '49 CV).

Originally, the yellow car in the auction was a Twin-H Ranch car.
