pinch welt door seal for 54 Hornet

What have some of you used for the vertical pinchwelt seals that go on the doors in the verticle between the front door to fender and between the front and rear door. If some one has a vender who can supply the proper one please tell me about it? Have viewed Metro ,but not sure if any of what they have will fit correctly?

I am working on this same issue. I got some D-shaped peel and stick weatherseal from Steele rubber ( PN 83-0110-73 ) but it seems too big, it was even bigger than the published dimensions and sample that was sent to me, so I am a little P.O.d. I am next going to try a peel and stick from Soffseal that is similar to Steele 83-0129-73. This available at my local resto shop cheaper than online.
I am working on a fix for the door strike plates to make the doors shut without slamming. I think that I can pad the striking surface with aluminum auto body tape to improve performance. This takes up the wear in the strike plate and make it click closed much better.
I still haven't decided on a weatherseal for the doors. It seems the 49C like I have had the W/S on the body. I'm going to try putting it on the door, this seems to be a better arrangement and I believe the later stepdowns had it this way.

I suggest that you get samples from some of the suppliers before you make a big order. Try Restoration Specialities, Steele Rubber and Soffseal. Don't waste your time with those K-Gap thieves.

This may be a silly question but why not replace the striker plate plate with a new one if its worn out ?

Thanks for the heads up on the too large seal ''Marker345'' I will not make that mistake.Ha I make enough all the time. Looking for a pinch welt that will slip onto the rim of the sheet metal, as this appears to be a good strong attacking design? Got a club meeting coming up in Cameron this coming 9th and will look at what some of the guys have done to address this issue. Maybe ''Ken'' can bring a sample of what he says can be had at Home Depot that appears to solve the problem. I am not looking forward to driving in the rain as these cars seem to leak every where without a proper sealing of the doors. Photo is what I did on the front doors and after the fact relised that I should have placed the seal to the door. Again got rushed to seal this as it was to rain the day I needed to attend a meeting.

If anyone can send photos of what they have done to seal up their door it would help me design new seals that appear not available after market today. The body manual is not much help as the detail is lacking in pictures.

Regarding new strikes: The new "improved design" strikes that I bought from the theives don't work as well as my old ones.

Theres a lot of NOS parts out there that are Original Hudson parts. Im out of new ones right now or I'd offer you some . All I have is used ones,

I have installed Soffseal E725A on my 49C's rear door front edge and it seems to be sealing satifactorialy. I also have installed Metro's S-seal which is not working quite right because the 49C used a seal mounted to the fender, not the door. Metro's part mounts to the door and my fender is not profiled properly to meet it.
