My parts car (33T8) both engine and trans. were basic machinery grey, My 1 owner 32 Hudson
was closer to the green of the 1929's.
Not positive, but thats my experience. (in 1967)
Hard to research after so many years.0 -
My understanding is that the silver became universal with the '34 models.0

Thanks Ric,
Any chance you could post pics of each?Especially the '32....0 -
Looks similar to what I found on my 30.

Thats what my 32 8cyl looked like, many years ago!0

Anybody have a suggestion of a current spray paint color that would come close to matching that original color?0

Up to 1933, engines were a light Green, and in 1934 all splashers, 6 or 8's were Silver. Walt.0

There is no question, no doubt, no way around the fact that the low mileage '33 Essex-Terraplane 8 sedan I owned and disassembled had an aluminum silver engine with a black oil pan and the usual accessories.0

Sounds like the eights were painted different than the sixes, at least in 1933?0

Was StillOutThere's an early production, or late? Mine was quite early, had the older
style bumpers etc. Wouldn't surprise me to see Hudson change things during the model year. ">0 -
I no longer have the serial number of that car. It did have the angled ends on the front bumper if that has been determined to be a early/late characteristic.

In prepping my 33 T8 engine for rebuild, I noted original black paint on the oil pan and front motor mount plate. I would assume timing cover was also black, but there is no evidence of any paint on it other than red brush paint that was put on at some point.
