Here what started as a 4 door sedan and has been modified into a panel wagon
A friend of mine from our Hot Rod club, buddy has just purchased it
it has all late model Camaro running gear through out and has had a pt cruiser rear door fitted
would be nice to find a mascot and crank hole cover etc for the grill
Has late model mini head lights installed
Saw this at the Beach Hop 2013 where my coupe picked up the Des Rae Memorial Trophy
I have encouraged him to join the forum and find out about the history of these cars

As you may know, in 1934 Hudson built a nice little panel sedan delivery (thanks, Alex!).

I am not sure how others feel about these conversions; but, my 28 Essex Roadster Pick-up started its life as a 1980 shay. They are not that difficult to do (much easier than a restoration) and they are a lot of fun. I say: "Why not?" With these conversions we get another Hudson product on the road and the purists (I think that is what I am) cannot complain about loosing a car to a restoration? Not that it matters, I had to rescue, manufacture and/or restore the HET parts used on this project.

1934's were called sedan deliveries - Hudson did not offer a panel (delivery) truck, per se, until 1935, body by York-Hoover who built the panel deliverys up thru 1937. Checker cab produced the bodies in 1938 thru 1940.

Sedan deliveries were like the picture on this post; panel deliveries had no rear side windows.

    Alex-

Hudson may have used different terminology, but industry-wide standards dictated that 2 rear doors on a truck chassis was a "Panel Delivery" and 1 rear door on a car chassis was a "Sedan Delivery". Odd ones like the '34 pictured above, even though it had two rear doors, was referred to as a "Sedan Delivery", because it was based on the car chassis.

So the exception to what you posted above, nearly every Sedan Delivery (typically) had one rear door.
