Help! I broke my gas pedal

I was starting the car tonight, finally got it tagged and insured, for it's maiden family voyage and while pumping the pedal to start it the pedal popped and came off the arm. There is a small rubber piece that fell on the floor and on the back of the pedal is just a stud. What should be there and what can I do to repair this? Thanks

  • You dont realy say what year yours is but it sounds like you need a new gas pedal. Most Hudsons in the 40's -50's had a ball and rubber socket . The rubber socket will crack ot come off with age. Put up a photo or describe better and someone will lead you to a part,

I glued my socket back on with some JB weld epoxy.

Super glue also works well on rubber. You should shoot some e-mails to the Hudson vendors in the WTN, there are a lot of these old accelerator pedals around. But you will have to do a sketch because (even though all look like a rocket ship) the backs are different for different years.

ok, it is a 49, I can't believe you guys couldn't read my mind on that. :) I have the rubber socket still. I can try to glue it on but it looks pretty worn out. I'll post pics tonight.
  • If you need another one give me a PM

Doesn't PAULLARGETYPE do restorations of gas pedals? I think you send him yours and some $$, and he fixes it.
