How to remove spedometer cable from hydramatic
Hello again,
Sorry for my silly questions but I'm restoring my '52 hornet and while I feel capable of tackling the big things, it's the little things that keep getting in the way.
I'm trying to remove the spedometer cable from a dual range hydramatic. I checked my procedure manual for the '52 but it only talks about manual transmissions. Either way, the boot is round and the cable is round. There appears to be a very very thin nut against the transmission but there is no room to get to it. I'm hoping one of you knows a trick or two for this.
Thanks,
Jairo.

What you call a boot is probably the round, knurled nut that you should be able to turn by hand. Pliers if its really stuck, no wrench flats as i remember.0

Thank you! Yes, that's the part I was calling the boot. I now see it has some ribs for grip but they are hardly visible. And I did have to us a wrench.
Now I'm ready to pull the engine and trans!
Thanks again,
