A couple weeks ago, I took a 10 hours drive to attend a surprise party for my sister's 70th anniversary at my brother's place. While there, I was only at a two hours drive from Steve's place ( bartibog on the forum) in New-Brunswick, Canada. I knew him from the Forum but had never met him. What a great man. And what a great job he performed on his 53 Wasp. My brother and I enjoyed our visit and it was worth the drive. He showed us all the restoration steps on his computer. A lot of attention was given to tiny details. Just to say that, even in far away places, without any local chapter, ( he will join our QNFC chapter), some guys are real Hudson lovers! Thank you Steve for that great moment! Michel

Great job on your car, Steve. The blue interior is especially striking. Wish the Hudson folks hadn't been so fond of green.

So the '53 Super Wasp still has the triangular piece in the grill, unlike the other models? There went my only good way to distinguish '52's from '53's. . .

Mike, it's still easy to tell a 52 from a 53: 52 has the struts for the chrome bars in the front of the grille, 53 is an open grille: I noticed that Steve's grille has the /\ bars - was Wasp different from the Hornet regards grille?? The 1948-1954 parts catalog seems to say no. Not trying to nit-pick here - just trying to learn something.

I would guess Steve, or the previous owner liked the triangle bars? This is something that I have thought of before, that if I had a 53, I would add the bars cause I just Love it. Won't be able to put it on my 54...LOL! Michel

    So, Steve, what's the secret?

Michel - makes sense to me.

I reckoned my '53 Hornet looked "toothless" without the inverted triangle, so I fitted a set. Not a great lot of adapting to make them fit, and looks much better in my opinion. I can always say it's an export model option!

the grill triangle bars has been solved. found some older pictures and no trianglr bars. the grill came out of 52 parts car as there was alot of dings in original from grandfather parking it in the wagon shed. i like what i have done with it and thats all that matters i guess

Great looking car. The chrome work looks good. Call it whatever, I would be proud to have it in my shop. By the way, the back looks a lot like my car with the exception of the 54 tail lights on my car. I expect your car is Black? It looks so good, I just might paint mine black?

@Steve: Thanks for the secret. As I said before, this is the way I like it.
@Brownie: You're right, it's Black. And a shiny one. Super paint job. I just wish my ''Silver Blue'' paint job turns this way...( In a couple of years from now...). Michel
