Radio Antenna
I went to install the new antenna base gasket to stop at least one leak and install the new knob and bezel today.
I found that the wire that goes from the solid antenna wire up the center window post to the base was gone. So I soldered a new on, wrapped it in tape and fed the wire back into to the hole for future attachment to the antenna lead.
This missing wire is probably why I was not getting any reception when I turned the radio on. At least I hope this is the reason. I may have a dead speaker since the water leak may have ruined the speaker.

I will be interested to hear if you are successful with the leak. I dismantled the aerial and reassembled the base with a smear of good non-hardening sealant. Radio works well but I still get a drip or so down the inside shaft in the rain - does water get down the shaft from the outside, if so, what is the best way to seal that (O'Ring or sealant?)0

My rubber gasket was so bad that I did not look for other indicators. I will try to remember next time I am out in the rain or when Hannah gets a bath.0
