oil filter return on a 308

Where on the 308 block does the bypass oil filter return, there are two small ports, one above the oil pan flange and one one on the flange. I assume the pressurized side is the port above the oil pressure control valve.

Correct. Filter feed comes from above the pressure relief, returned via the other port near the flange.
