Hudson At Portland Swap Meet

I had an opportunity to take in the Portland Swap Meet for the first time. Man was it huge! Other than a couple of nose/grille assemblies for a '36 and '37 Hudson, the below picture was all I could find. Sadly nothing for my 112.

No coaches for Russell. 2Drs only and ragtops preferred!

SWAP MEETS ARE A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME IF YOU GO THERE TRYING TO FIND ANYTHING THAT IS HUDSON.....

Lots of tri five chevie and first generation mustang stuff is all over the swap meets. Ussually any Hudson goodies are way over priced and the vendor knows nothing about Hudson's, exept that they are rare.

I was in the area to pick up a set of fenders, so I thought I would take it in. Even though I found no parts for myself, I always like looking at "what's out there" in the land of old automobiles. A person never knows if stopping at the right vendor will trigger a lead to where one may find some Hudson gear?

*I'm with you totally on this one Gary. Plus, swap meets are another great reason for a road trip to places you would not likely have otherwise visited. The swap meet will never die!
  • I allways be sure to wear one of my Hudson shirts when walking a swap meet. It gets people to stop you if they know of Hudson cars or parts someplace ,

I've used a sandwich board before with good success. Two pieces of cardboard and string, and a felt marker to write all your wants, and hope a vendor spots you before you get too far down the aisle. Got a few leads that way. Forgot to make one in the Motel room the night before the Portland meet, but it would have been mush by noon anyway with all the rain!

    Gary,
How much was the seller asking for that 35? Did it sell? Do you have the sellers info?

    Chris,
I thought I saw a window sign that had around $5,000 for it. I can't be positive because I didn't spend much time by it, just enough to take a picture. I walked by it late afternoon Friday, so I am unsure if it sold by the end of the Meet.

I guess I will have to wait and see if it comes up for sale again in Washington. Having the side mounted spare is a huge selling point for me. Did you know if it had a title or not?

    Chris,
Unfortunately I didn't talk to the vendor. I quickly snapped the picture and moved on. I was going to ask him if he had any 112 items, but he was busy with a potential customer, and I saw none on the tables, so I left. It was drizzling all day so I wanted to get through the monster meet as fast as I could.
