At least the writer was honest - " Its appeal is undeniable, but its price is unreasonable."

Alex, What are you thinking, I am sure that there are a lot of folks out there that are willing to pay $150,000.00 more than a car is worth? It seems like we see reports every week or so of someone who paid much more than a car's true value. Boy, do I have a value for you--2008 KIA that I am willing to sell for half that price. It comes with a kiss from the sugar plumb fairy...

I am sorry for what I said above, what I really mean to say is any antique car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
  • As my dad would have said "some folks got more dollars than cents(sense)! LOL

    FYI
This could be a positve sign that our Hudson's are finally going up in value along with the more popular Brands....

It is also going to make saving rusty Hudson's more difficult since they are seen as more valuable. IMO not a good thing...

Of course Hudsons are going up in value, Kevin. Prices of the Ford, Chevy and Chrysler marques have been driven to the point where the average where the average hobbyist can't afford them any more. Hudsons are in a lower price bracket so the speculators are turning their attention to us now. Cars was a great movie - but it served as a gateway to higher prices. Never in my 40 years in this club could I have afforded todays prices - and very few of us can.

And of course stating the obvious for the price to reach what it did there must have been at least 2 people who wanted it.

Is Brooks Stevens considered a collectable type person?
  • None of the many Auctions have "real world " prices..You never know what the real prices are. This is not as ridiculous as the 5.5 million paid for a Shelby Cobra 427

I'll sell ya my 52 Twin H for a lot less than that. I've got too many Hudsons.

Yeah, Nevada - hedging their bets that they'll have the edge if the nut case in NK decides to invade southern California.
