I just discovered this Google Book about Independent auto makes, with a couple interesting chapters about Hudson. It's called "Storied Independent Automakers: Nash, Hudson, and American Motors", written by Charles Hyde:

http://books.google.com/books?id=PerGbKxOPZYC&pg=PA139&lpg=PA139&dq=strike+1937+Hudson&source=bl&ots=0clx9Udx8X&sig=J5GzMfyD2cT3op03kWDJwu4hkBU&hl=en&sa=X&ei=WmBtUZPBKZbk4APhnYCoBg&ved=0CDUQ6AEwAg#v=onepage&q=strike 1937 Hudson&f=false

Scroll back to page 93 for the start of the Hudson section. The on-line book ends at page 159, during the early Step-Down years, but it's still worth the read. And you might want to search Alibris, Ebay and Amazon to find a copy of this for your library. The book is in print, and is listed at $36.95 from the Wayne State University Press.

Any hard-bitten Hudson fan knows most of this history, but for the newbies it might make interesting reading.
