Won't see that one at a meet, most likely. Won't see one in my driveway either. At my age I'm a fatilist. If I had one I'd drive and not worry about getting wrecked. Somebody is missing the whole point of this hobby - it's supposed to be about having fun and enjoying, while driving, the cars.

Will be curious to see
a) what this sells for, and
b) who drops the coin for it.
I recall looking at one of these in the mid 90's and it was $20,000 which seemed like a LOT at that time....0 -
Mark Hyman had been advertising in the WTN for years looking to buy an Italia......funny that he is selling it0

Thats a lot of money for an Italian Jet.0

Gotta admit, I would love to get her out on a straight road and PUNCH IT!
She looks like a driver to me!
Back seat dont look to comfortable for that kind of money tho! LOL!

I think "punching it" would be kind of a disappointment, with the 212 Jet motor. They put those in the Wasp Hashes, and when you added AC, you were looking at 0-60 by next Tuesday. Kind of like some wag (maybe Tom McCahill?) said when reviewing the old Mercedes 190 diesels- "This isn't life in the slow lane, its life in the bike path. . ."
I think the back seat area with belts was to lash down luggage.0 -
This is not the Barrett Jackson Car. Ed0

Italia #3's first owner was the founder of "Gars Hardware" in Grand Rapids MI. He bought
it from Gil Schaefer's Downtown Hudson in G.R. which was the Distributor for West Mi.
Owner #2 was Ralph Hufford, of Sparta MI. I first saw it while Mr. Hufford was having some body work done due to a sudden meeting with a deer. One of my students was studying my Rambler Family Album and said "I know where one of those is. Its at the "body shop' downtown". This was in the Spring of 1967. Mr. Hufford sold it to a friend of mine, Jeff Wells, Jeff sold it to Carl Laska. Mr. Hyman may not have known the full history of this car,
but I wanted to share my story with you folks.

Great story Ric. Jeff wells has the Lois Lane Rambler as well, correct? Doc, Hawaii car came back to PA when purchased by Paul Sable. He then sold it to Gordon Apner who restored it and sold it at BJ0

Yes, I apologize for the spelling....0

Hope Hyman is a paid member of the HET,, in order to put his adds in the WTN.... as he has plenty of money.0
