Club Boundary Map

Now that we have our Army Retirement nearly behind us, it is time to find the proper club home once we move.

What club covers southern Illinois? Gateway or Southern Indiana? We will be between St. Louis and Evansville, IN, 20 miles south of the I-64 & I-57 interchange right on I-57.

I think the Gateway Chapter covers that area. Southern Indiana is on the other side of Illinois.

BTW congratulations on your pending retirment. It's a long haul with tons of family interruptions - but, man, that check coming in every month is a God send. I been cheating the govm't out of retirement money since 1976 - longer than I was in!!!!

Gateway, I'm fairly sure. If you're in Illinois south of Springfield you're Gateway. (Actually parts of Illinois north and east of Springfield are also Gateway.)

As you may know, it is not commanded that you have to belong to the chapter within whose boundaries you live, but it makes sense to belong to the same chapter as neighboring Hudsonites do.

Thank you. I understand club membership is flexible. We did not belong to a club until last year and now are moving. But I do want to join the club in who's turf I live.

Rick: We are still looking at driving out to Front Royal. Our schedules are still up in the air with some final "out processing". Even though the event is on the weekend, we still have some packing and house cleaning stuff to do before the movers get here.

Roger: We will be in Marion, IL (or Carbondale, IL) depending on where we find a house. My wife is taking over a Quality Assurance Supervisor role at the VA Hospital in Marion. So Marion is our focus for a house.

Pacemaker500 ,There you would be at the southern end of the Gateway area. St. Louis is the center basicly of our group. We have folks up north in the Decatur Il. And out west in Fort Leonard Wood . So you are not too far out.

We're working on it! Here is a map that was current in 2006. Jon B. and I have been working with Aaron to keep it updated. There have been a few chapters that have merged and others that have ceased to exist, others are redrawing their boundaries, and two new chapters added. All this has been happening in the last few years. The paperwork needs to be finalized and approved before the map can be revised.

John, Thank you. That would be a nice addition to the website. Even with the caveat that "a New version is forthcoming," it would help. Many people are visual learners (I am) and this would help them get the "right" club faster than look at the list.
