brakes stuck

Keep tinkering with my '37 Terraplane as time permits, which is not much. Once started and warmed up a bit, put in low and let the clutch out , the car wants to move, will go a foot or so and then will not go any further. The wheels feel like they are being held back. There is no fluid in the master cylinder as the car has sat for awhile and I plan on redoing the brakes anyway. How best to free the brakes so I can move the car fifty feet into the garage. It has been outside all winter. Any help or advice will be appreciated. Thanks, Arnie in Nevada.

Here are a couple suggestions.
Try backing off the brake adjuster. If that won't work try pulling the car in neutral. When I was helping the late George Lauders family liquidate 15 Hudson, 3 of the cars had one of the brakes that was rusted to the brake drum. Hooking up a tow strap to the car and pulling them freed up the brakes. After that we could push them by hand. I think the farthest we had to pull one was about 50 feet before the wheel would turn.
Hope this will be helpful.

By the way there are still two rust free parts cars left. 47 4dr and a 50 4dr. They will be going to the scrap yard at the end of the month if no one wants them. I saved 3 Hudsons, I'm out of room to save any more. Anyone interested can call me 818 845 2945.0
