1951 Commodore wiring question
At the firewall near the L.H.S. of the engine there is a single wire coming out from the wiring harness. It has a covering that is probably a heat shield. Away from the harness it splits into two with a round terminal at the end of each of these wires. There appears to be no power in the wire with anything turned on or off. I cannot see any terminals nearby that they could connect to. Any ideas?

I had the same issue when I rewired my 54. I just went out and looked at this issue and it appears that I used this connection for the light for the Hydro- matic shift indicator light. I believe it will only become hot when the light switch is on? Put a trouble light to it and turn on the light switch and let me know if I am giving you good information or not???
Any way this connection I have going down to the end of the steering column and then up to the steering wheel? So I am really guessing . I do not think that the wiring schematics show this wire?.Rod0 -
Pretty sure that would be the origonal coil wire. get rid of the zip tie and it will drop into that clip on the head bolt ahead of the temp sender. not sure why its split0

thank for the help. The distributor has been fitted with an Electronic Module apparently when it was fitted the wire that supplies power to the kick down switch from the coil was not fitted.
