Voltage regulator circuit
Hello!
As i am resotring the electrical on my hudson from 12v neg ground to 6v positive ground i hava bought a new voltage regulator for 6v positive ground. I dont really know how to install it, it has got three connections "A" "F" and "B" and now i am trying to figure out how to wire this, does anyone here have a good wiring diagram for this type? The diagrams i have in my manual is with a regulator with 4 connections.
It is a "Blue Streak" from standard motors.

You connect the A terminal to the A on the generator (should be the larger of the two posts on the generator, The B terminal to the battery voltage supply from the solenoid, and the F terminal to the F on the generator (smaller post). The fourth terminal, usually on the opposite side to the others, is for the warning light on the dash. Before you start the engine, you will need to polarise the generator by momentarily shorting the A and B terminals on the regulator. Good luck,

You were aware, were you not, that the Club provides shop manuals (with wiring diagrams) on-line at the homepage? To access them you must either be a registered guest (with limited privileges) or a full HET member. You didn't mention the year of your Hudson but there are several manuals there covering pre-war to postwar cars0

Hello and thank you for the help.
Yes i am aware that there is shop manuals. It is a 39 serie 92, i have the original wiring diagrams, but as the original regulator is with four connections marked differently, it was a bit confusing to try to translate it. I thought it was easier to ask before i destroyed something.0 -
Krille, if you are fitting the original VRD4008A regulator, then the connections are marked A, B, F, and T. The T terminal connects to the dash light. You need the Hudson Mechanical Procedure Manual to set thewse regulators up.0
