I believe I found my transmission issue.

Please remind us of the year of the transmission, and whether it's a 3-speed or 3-speed with overdrive. I assume this is a manual transmission?0

A bearing shop will have those circlips0

oops yes it would help to know what I am working on I suppose. It is a 53 (I believe) 3 speed manual with overdrive. The numbers on the side of the trans are:
T86E-1A
Bob I am going to try a local shop tomorrow, hopefully they will be able to help0 -
OK well I struck out on that. I did get some and one appears to be close but it's hard to tell because it 's broken. I will try it tonight and see how it fits. If anyone knows where I can get that exact clip I would appreciate it.
thanks0 -
That T86 is a common type. Ford ,and independents like Willys used versions of it. You might go about it from thaw angle.

probably should have updated this. I found a clip and put it all back together again. It wasn't the problem.
It quieted it down but didn't solve it so I'm going to pull it again and rebuild it. Thanks0
