Hi everyone,

Hazel Robinson, a long time member of the New England Chapter, will be on TV tonight with her beautiful and all original Hudson Hornet. She has sold the car to Wayne Carini, host of Chasing Classic Cars.

The episode is on tonight on the Velocity Channel.

Some of you already know, Wayne bought Hazel's Italia back in 2006.

I've never heard of the Velocity channel!!!! Which really doesn't matter since I pulled the plug when my DirecTV reached 200 channels, 185 or 190 I never watched anyway, and was costing me $85 a month. To much money. Besides there wasn't much on TV that was interesting. Not into reality shows, endless re-runs and not interested into truckers driving across frozen lakes.

  • That was a GREAT episode, the Hornet received plenty of quality air time.Fun to hear the 308 cranking over, such a familiar sound....What a Beautiful 1 owner '53 Hudson, and a fine back story as well.

I liked that Wayne has the Hudson's at his home and said they will never leave his family's collection.

Hi Alex, I don't get this channel too but was able this morning to watch a few minutes of each episode on the Hudson with the link provided by Greg. I prefer to put more money into my computer than on TV. Mrs. Hazel is a very good caretaker in the memory of her brother. Michel

My family has known Hazel for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately we don't know where it is anymore but there used to be a picture of my brother standing on the seat in the Italia taken when he was a little kid (He's 36 now).

As ski4life65 mentioned, Wayne's said he won't sell any of her cars and he does keep them at his home. I haven't seen him do that with any other cars.

  • When I drove joy's car from CA to CT in 1992, I stopped in to see Hazel and the Itilia wasn't running! After checking it out fuel pump was bad. Joy told me to sell her the new pump in the trunk, which I installed and she drove it till she sold it. All her cars were kept in a garage, heated in winter, cooled in summer. What a job to install a double action fuel pump in the Itilia. Walt

I've known Hazel (and Ray until he passed) for more years than I care to remember - back into the '70's. Cute story - I attended one of Ray and Hazels meets at their home in CT back around 1972, 1973. Had a little trouble finding the house so I stopped at a gas station and asked for directions. The guy at the station thought for a minute until I said I was going to a car meet there. He says "Oh, yeah, that's the guy with all those Fords!!!!" Hazel and I chuckled over that for years. Wonderful lady.

I recorded it and watched it last night and thought it was great. I did cring a little when Wayne fired it up first time and revved the heck out of it. Good exposure for the Hudson brand.

Great exposure for the Hudson marque. Wayne has quite a bit of street cred in the car business, and an obvious soft spot for Hudsons.

Only thing that surprised me a little is when he was looking at the engine and said it was "almost 400 cubic inches". I've known the 308 number since I was a kid- you'd think he would, too.
