I thought you might enjoy this. My 3 year old said 'dada the hudson is dirty, let's wash it'. How cool is that?

    Raising him right.
I was talking about selling out both the projects I've got and the grandson heard about it and told me that I could sell the Brown one but the Green one was "His". It's a 49 Brougham so he already has pretty good taste.

When my son was about 3 years old, I suddenly realized that he had disappeared somewhere in the garage. I scanned the garage and did not see him, so I headed outside to call him. He was not to be found. So, in a panic, because at that age he had a habit getting into things, etc...well you know... Next, I headed back to the garage to get his mother's help in locating him. Suddenly as I entered the garage, from a different side this time, I spotted two little legs sticking out from under our Nash. As I peered underneath, here's this little guy with 2 wrenches that were as long as his forearms. He could barely hold the wrenches, but he was sure trying to adjust something! When I asked him what he thought he was doing, he simply said that he was fixing his "pretty Nash".

    Cool story,
as long as he doesn't put the hose in the gas tank playing petrol attendant :D
  • My 5 year old daughter just likes to "hang out with papa" at the garage. She likes sitting in the Hudson more than my other old cars because she says it's more comfortable. She's constantly asking me "what do you have for me to work on now?". ;)

Many years ago, I worked in a service garage where we had to tow in a car, because a very young son new mama was going to get gas, so he decided to help out and filled the tank via the garden hose.

I was 4 when Dad bought a new 1947 Crosley. Watching him fill the tank a few times I new I could do it too. So one day I picked up the garden hose turned the water facet handle and proceeded be helpful, then put hose in tank to fill'er up. Until I read these post about filling gas tank with water I thought I was the only helpful one .
Watch out JMed!!! He likes helping dada.

I hadn't heard of the garden hose problem but I'll be sure to watch out for it. We let our son play in the car but while someone is around or close by. That was after he drained the car battery twice by leaving the lights and radio on.

PAULARGETYPE - Nice pic and proud Pup Pup!

Somewhere, I hope it still exists. There is a 1957 Corvette with a two year old daughter's footprints in the black paint on the floorboards. In one door and out the other.
I was changing the color and she was around the garage barefooted and decided on a short cut. While the paint was still tacky.
She's 38 years old now and her son likes to hang around the garage the same way.
