Can some one please tell me what visor will fit a 46 pickup? And if a futton style of a 49/51 merc will fit.
I have just got my self a 46 truck and will be asking lots of questions about it when I get it in june. This is a new (modern)Hudson for me as the newest one I own is a 1929, and I no nothing of these new fangled contraptions.

Thanks.

  • Anything that fits a Hudson car of that vintage will generaly fit the trucks,

Not exactly "tallent R", don't forget, the trucks didn't have any drip rails. The cars did. The drip rails are what most visors attatch to. :)
  • I stand corrected 8-} ,I'm glad someone is paying attention,

I've had people ask me to make these. But I've never done it. With us, it came down to making something custom. Not that their aren't visors out there that will fit. I'm just not aware of what that would be. ...So, I figured you would have to make a new visor design. Because the step down visor is too wide, and in my opinion, too deep. Next you need to do something where it attaches on the outsides. You would either have to make a special piece that would allow you to put a screw up into the door jamb. Which would not be my first choice. Or add a small piece of drip rail, only as long as the new bracket. That way you could attatch it the same style as a step down. But that would mean some welding and paint touch-up.
I've seen people run screws through the outside of the body, just above the A-pillar there. Because it's a truck with no drip rails. But I don't approve of that method. ;)
