progress on my 54 Hornet

Gotta have over a hundred hours of paint removal, filling, priming, block sanding and repeat priming, block sanding, repeat priming, block sanding, priming yet again and sanding. I still have the front fenders, driver door, deck lid, rear skirts, and continental kit sheet metal left to do. I love the smell of fresh 2k primer in the morning, it smells like victory.

Chris-
Looks fanastic! Keep up the great work. 100 hours? Looks like you've made great progress in that amount of time! Let me know when you get up to the 2500-hour mark and your car and my car can swap war stories. LOL! What color is she gonna be?0 -
Very nice Chris! Looking forward to see her come back together0

Nice Chris, I am still in the Make it stop, make it run stage with my 54. You are now down to the fun part....0

Thanks for the encouragment, I am going to paint it black with a Harley davidson shade of black cherry top, rear quarters behind the pork chops and Continental wheel surround. have already painted the interior dash, door and window garnish a rolls royce brown that comes close to the original color. The upholstery is going to be as close to the stock light and dark brown fabric as possible and I will have to save up for that. I have factory power steering and brakes, Twin H and Hydramatic for it. I am picking up my engine block up from Costa Mesa R&D on monday and will take a break on the body work to assemble that. It should be a strong running engine when completed, 60 over 308 with a lot of Maas's goodies, Dany Spring cut relief and half inch head bolts, 7x size valves and full length clifford header.0

Here is what 8 solid months of dedication has brought me so far. I am close to start up. As part of the restoration I have added factory power steering and brakes along with back up lights and a day/night inside mirror. These Items add to a car that had a nice list of factory options already including the Continental spare.
