From past discussions on oil I thought this article would be of interest. There is alot of information, good and not so good results from different additives used in motor oils. Test results of horepower, torque and MPG improvements. As well as engine break-in improvements and much more.

Thanks for posting, Lee. It WAS interesting. From the published results, and keeping the classic car owner in mind, I think Oil Extreme would be a beneficial additive perhaps for the break-in period, and a reasonable amount of time following initial break-in. Beyond that time frame, it might well be cost-prohibitive or at least not financially pertinent for a continuing treatment for the negligible results one would obtain in a street engine.

Yes, I did, but did not fully edit my post. But thank you for pointing out my inadequacies. You are, of course correct: Oil Extreme would not be beneficial for the initial break-in period, as a mineral-based oil would best serve those purposes.

Here is another article by David Vizard use of Oil Extreme during engine break-in.

I finely found what I have been looking for in print. Click on the link, then click on OIL EXTREME "BETTER THAN SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL". Scroll down to Technical Paper on Calcium Petrolium System. Look at the paragraph above it and read the last two sentences that says: "This EP (Extreme Pressure) anti wear technoloy is the answer to the low ZDDP levels in todays motor oil. This system eliminates cam wear problems." It may be referring back to the break-in oil article then EXTREME OIL concentrate use.

If interested in technical information click on the Technical Paper..... . I don't pretend to understand the technical, but I like what I've read on the results protecting against extreme pressures. Especially protecting against cam wear.
